There is huge variation in wild dandelions, including hundreds of microspecies that are adapted to specific conditions. The Kazakh dandelion produces a lot of latex and this is currently being explored as an alternative rubber crop taraxagum.com lion-flex.com

I had a failed landscape canvas sitting in the corner and finally got around to recycling it into a new painting. The textures and colors show through and gives the dandelions depth and light.

Moral of story, always keep old canvases around. They make good underpaintings.
