✍ Day 12 - Series on #Python 🤖 with @Sachintukumar📍

📢 Topic of Day - " Glob Module in Python "

🧵👇
' With the help of the Python #glob #module, we can search for all the path names which are looking for files matching a specific pattern (which is defined by us). The specified pattern for file matching is defined according to the rules dictated by the #Unix shell.

#SQL
The result obtained by following these rules for specific pattern file matching is returned in arbitrary order in output of program While using file matching pattern we have to fulfil some requirements of the glob #module because the module can travel through the list of the file

As if there isn't enough going on, @DCMS has created a monitoring and evaluation framework for the #NationalDataStrategy. gov.uk/government/pub… #datastrategy #superexcited
Even better, a call for evidence from "stakeholders across the world of digital, data and technology" to help DCMS identify existing appropriate metrics and scope the development of new metrics for future tracking.

I mean who doesn't love metrics right? #datastrategy #datingpool
Wait, there's more. The #NationalDataStrategy Forum now has workstreams!

@NHSEngland today ran a webinar in which it was claimed that the @PalantirTech #Palantir #Foundry data platform used for the COVID-19 Data Store was "a contract awarded in open competition".

This contract had to be obtained by @openDemocracy through legal action.
If the contract itself was kept secret, it is hard to see how the contract could have been awarded in "open competition using normal procurement rules"

opendemocracy.net/en/ournhs/weve…
When the contract was published it turned out that the original contract cost was £1. One pound.

How exactly does an organisation like @NHSEngland think this fits with "normal procurement"?

Most of this week I am attending the @gartner Data & Analytics Summit - EMEA (from inside my home office. yay!). I will be sharing my appreciation for some of the speakers/sessions in this 🧵as well as knowledge that I gained and think is worthy of sharing!

#GartnerDA
Morning started off well with a great session by @danielmintz on how to 'Break the adoption barrier'!

Colleagues are so used to have seamless access to data in their personal lives, while accessing data at work is an horrendous struggle. The gap is huge!

Participated in a Workshop around 'Creating an Effective Data and Analytics Strategy' with @mikerollings.

It contained some useful exercises that I will take with me in the discussions regarding @Vanderlande 's Data-Driven Strategy!

Just floating an idea about #PID and #FAIR that has been in back of my mind for some time. In the blockchain world, @IpfSbot creates PIDs or addresses (#multihash) based on the content of the digital object. Wouldn't it be great if the scientific community embraced this pattern?
A little bit of context: creating PIDs for your digital assets is the first #FAIR principle (F1) and an absolute cornerstone for rolling out #datastrategy. This is typically solved in the scientific world by creating handles through a party that guarantees persistence, e.g. #DOI.
Independently, I have been following #IPFS (ipfs.io) #opensource community over the last few years who have a really interesting architecture for the decentralized internet. It's a mix of #git like merkle trees, p2p technology (like bittorrent), and crypto hashes.
