New round of attacks to take attention away from real issues. 1. They blur the difference between censorship and disinformation. #Disinfo insidiously manipulates. 2. #FactsMatter An investment is not a company's valuation! Learn more before exposing your ignorance!
Censorship is a government's control to silence information it doesn't want in the public sphere. While it's been used liberally, in the constitution, only government has this power. And control like this is old world, because in age of social media, they flood with lies.

Maltese Foreign Minister @AbelaCarmelo is addressing #DefendMediaFreedom in London. Will he mention the elephant in the room - continued impunity for the assassination of journalist #DaphneCaruanaGalizia? And why the government of #Malta is blocking a public inquiry? Image
.@AbelaCarmelo spoke of the assassination of #DaphneCaruanaGalizia. Says #Malta has come under international pressure regarding a public inquiry, and the government will indeed launch one - but when? PACE has set a deadline of three months... publicinquiry.mt/en/

RSF Secretary-General @cdeloire is intervening from the plenary floor at #DefendMediaFreedom in London. Opens by noting the World #PressFreedom Map is getting darker every year, with only 9 percent of the world population now living in countries with a good press freedom climate.
.@cdeloire points to visible and invisible prisons for journalists. Counter-models are emerging that work against #pressfreedom. We are at a tipping point, and business as usual is not working. Business as usual will kill democracy. #DefendMediaFreedom
.@cdeloire calls for action in cases that haven’t been mentioned: @raif_badawi in #SaudiArabia. Cumhuriyet journalists in #Turkey. #DaphneCaruanaGalizia in #Malta. And Julian #Assange, whose case has worrying implications for protection of journalistic sources #DefendMediaFreedom
