1/n AAP in #DelhiElection2020 shows again that it is undisputed expert, in the art of merchandising hollow dreams and bartering them for real votes. After transforming Delhi in a polluted slum capital AAP successfully sold dream of Paris like Delhi backed by wave of free-soaps.
2/n Setting up Narrative: Unlike 2015 AAP was not the crusader any more. First election AAP had to contest as political party not activists. AAP which totally failed on Swaraj, Jan Lokpal, donation transparency, leaving it to totally depending conventional politics of free-soaps.
3/n To top it all, ticket to fraud degree lawyer Tomar’s wife compromised corruption, dynast, and high command free clean politics promise. In addition Free wifi, colleges, schools, hospitals, women safety, clean Yamuna, pollution free, Paris like Delhi all were broken promises.
The victory of the @AamAadmiParty AAP in the #DelhiElection2020 is amazing for more than one reason. Basically, it will be one of the rare occasions wherein a party in power retains power with a voteshare of over 50%. 1/4
Two, the difference in the vote shares of the AAP and the @BJP4India BJP is so wide that the latter will have to start paying focussed attention from now. Only then will the @BJP4India BJP be able to return to power in 2025. 2/4
Three, the recent protest on the CAA has hit the BJP very badly. For example, in Okhla assembly constituency under which falls Shaheen Bagh, the nucleus of anti-CAA protest, the AAP candidate has got over 85% of votes. Four, the BJP and the Congress have failed.3/4

One, either BJP or AAP managed to mobilise their cadres. Here, BJP is at a distinct advantage since they have a larger cadre base, more money and a better organisation.

Second, this means that a sizable number of people stepped out to vote knowing that important issues are at stake. A near 60% vote is not a bad score for any city.
