The Barnes and Noble summer reading program for kids gives kids a free book when they read 8 books over the summer.Visit the Barnes and Noble summer reading program to select the age range that your child fits into.
After you've chosen an age range, you'll find a link to where you can download and print a reading journal. The journals are available in English and Spanish. Fill out the student information on the bottom of the first page of the journal.
A parent must sign on this page in order for the child to get a free book. In the reading log, your child will need to record the title and author, along with their favorite part of eight books to get their free book.

The Parker Police Department Summer Kick-Off Celebration is Wednesday, June 9, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at 20115 E. Mainstreet.
This is a family-friendly event featuring Coffee with a Cop including root beer floats for kids, coffee for adults and casual, agenda-free conversations with the officers that patrol your community. They will have various police vehicles available for guests to visit.
The event will also include Cookies with Rookies, introducing the newest officers to Parker residents. Parker PD’s Bike Patrol will be hosting a Bike Safety event targeting youngsters who know how to ride and are looking to learn more about riding safely.
