FM #NirmalaSitharaman announces a slew of measures to curb inflation, citing PM #NarendraModi's commitment to help the poor and common man, including a Rs.8 reduction in central excise duty per litre of #petrol and a Rs.6 cut in the duty on #diesel, reports @tragicosmicomic
She exhorted all States, especially those that had not cut State levies when central #taxes on #fuel products were cut the last time in November 2021, to implement a similar cut and give relief to the common man.

If the FG removes fuel subsidy, is there any guarantee that the "savings" would be used for development projects for the people? The answer is No Technically the "savings" will reflect in a lower budget deficit from N6 - N4 Trillion. Those projects must already be in the budget.
It is important for Nigerians to know that the pathway to any sustainable development for the people must go through appropriation and the budget process. This fiscal reality also means we must be prepared for other "realities" (like debt serving) to take precedence over SDGs.
I don't kid myself in expectation that a removal of subsidy will suddenly bring the Eldorado we seek. That it'll provide govt more funding as it logically shd or that everything will pan out as planned. I'll rather work with the conservative view that it may or may not. #Diesel

2/ Um was geht es:
Bei den #Klimazielen geht es um 55% Emissionsreduktion bis 2030, THG-Neutralität bis 2050 und netto-negativ danach. Den Ramen bildet der #EUGreenDeal, der eine umfassende Transformation inklusive einer #JustTransition beschreibt
3/ Das größte Paket ist sicherlich das rund um die Revision des #EUETS. Im #EUETS soll der Schiffsverkehr einbezogen werden und die #MSR angepasst werden. Weiterhin soll es einen neuen separaten "adjacent ETS" #ETS2 für Gebäude und Straßenverkehr geben, der 2025 starten soll.

If you Invest 1 lac in FD for 10 years with current interest rate of 5.4%, your 1 lac grows to 1.7 lacs in ten years. But after tax, your FD interest rate will be just 3.92%, so after ten years your post tax returns would be only Rs. 1.47 lacs only.
But consider the inflation, remember what was the #petrol and #diesel price before 10 to 15 years? Currently, we pay around Rs.100 per litre, but in the year 2003 it was just Rs. 33. The fuel price alone increased more than 203% in last 15 years.
