Ganouri-Tanta village in Jammu and Kashmir's #Doda district on Sunday, January 17, received electricity for the first time since independence. 
The District Development Commissioner (#DDC), Sagar D Doifode, visited the village and formally declared it electrified by lighting a bulb, as informed by one of the officials.
The crowd cheered as the first ever electric bulb was lit in the village.

The matriarch Smt Sukhmali Koul, made #Bhaderwah #Jammu her home & went onto become the first Lady teacher in the area, also setting up a school for girls. Giving back to her community, in the best way she could.
A few generations down, the fly remains committed to their region & nation. Ruchir Kumar Koul marries a beautiful Bhaderwahi girl in 1989. 5 yrs into the marriage, Rucher was gunned down by terrorists. He left behind two small children, 3 & 5 yrs old & a 26 yr old wife.
