Lyndon LaRouche: "#QueenElizabeth was a poor imitation of the Witch of Endor. Well, that's what she is, in effect. She's evil."
#Happy100thLyndonLaRouche!! I wish Marsha Malouk was alive today to read and hear about the death of the "Witch"!

Lyndon LaRouche: "The #BritishEmpire, since the 1790s, has been running the international drug traffic. And the #Queen, as head of state, was responsible for this. For example, let's take #Afghanistan. ..."
..."Now, in #Afghanistan, a farmer who is working under duress, that is, the gangsters who run this #drug operation, force the #farmer to grow #opium. They say, we'll kill you if you don't. He grows opium. He doesn't get paid much for it. ..."

Proud that my kids get to grow as leaders and culturally through @JackandJillInc—an org I grew up in, too!

Sharing our awesome fundraiser to support local ATL charities—and the arts! Features an original piece by artist #FahamuPecou.

Loooove that our kids got into appreciating the works of Dr. Pecou through recreating their OWN #DOPE interpretations!

Servant leadership outside of the hospital fuels our work inside. Grateful for @JackandJillInc & @dstinc1913 for continuing to be my service homes!

We teach our kids to go hard at fundraising so that we can meaningfully support nonprofits that serve our most vulnerable community members—many of whom come to Grady. So cool for them to learn and grow at the same time!

Aren’t these kids creative? How #DOPE are these? ImageImageImageImage

Like many of you, I’m an unapologetic book nerd. I love a good recommendation and love sharing after I enjoy a book.

So check it:

Just finished this book by our very own #medtwitter @AaronLBerkowitz. Here’s my unsolicited review.

(Spoiler alert: I loved it.)
In full transparency, @AaronLBerkowitz told me (via Twitter) about his recently published book. And because:

1. I like books.
2. I believe #supportisaverb
3. It was on Audible.

I immediately used my November @audible_com credit and gave it a try.

I’ll admit—I’m a fan of @AaronLBerkowitz’ Neuro textbook. But I had no idea what to expect out of THIS particular book.

I mean, even with reviews from everyone from Dr. Paul Farmer himself to @drsanjaygupta, the book nerd in me was skeptical.

#DeepikaPadukone: #No_Hasty_Actions_Please

Warning: #Hash_tags in this article are purely coincidental and aren't meant to be taken seriously. Do not Google their meanings. You will end up on same page.
While the whole Hindu Right Wing is baying for Deepika Padukone's blood, I have a different take. I cannot shun this responsibility to post my thoughts about Deepika. I advocate no #Hash_Tea actions against her. Let me elaborate.
We should never forget Deepika is a woman of #substance. She is made of sterner #stuff. She's managed to create her own identity away from her father's shadow and done her best to #weed out nepotism in cinema field.

Mentoring Meeting, circa 2002

Her: “So tell me about your interests.”
Me: “Umm. I like teaching. I like patient care. Ummm. . . “
Her: “Have you thought about particular aspects that you like?”

Her: “Tell me this. . . Where do you see yourself in, say, 5 years?”
When I look back on my early meetings with mentors, there was so much I didn’t know that I'd tell myself if I could.

*How do I find a mentor?
*How do I know if we’re a good fit?
*What can I do to make the most of the relationship?
*Can I have more than one?

But you know what? When you know better, you do better. And you also pay it forward.

Let’s talk mentee-ing, shall we?

Me: “Hi, I really enjoyed your lecture. I was wondering if you might be willing to be my mentor?”
Person-who-never-met-me-before: “Say what now?”

I started playing #guitar in college. Some of my friends back home played, so I thought I'd learn. It's been years since I kept up with it. With no job and an empty house, I had time. Plus, I could crank up my amp. Ava would have hated it. All the more reason to do it.
Strumming a few chords or playing a riff through a loud amp usually makes me feel better. It's more of a distraction this time. My amp is a little old. Even a #ragpicker might pass on it. "If you're not going to play it, sell it," Ava nagged. Life always got in the way.
Or I got in the way. Not even ten years ago I kept getting sick all the time. Painful stomach cramps would radiate weakness throughout my body. I learned how to wash it away like healing #rainwater. That's when I really started to figure out who I was and what I could do.
