Iā€™ve become very adverse to ā€œchargeā€ & ā€œdischargeā€ in #somatic language b/c of the misappropriation by the #trauma workshops merchants

But this is what it means šŸ‘‡šŸ¼
ā€œIf we speak of charge and discharge in Body Psychotherapy we refer to changing the arousal dimension of the core affect. Working with charge and discharge is independent of the emotional category that we awaken or calm by provoking or soothing arousal.ā€ - Ulfried Geuter andā€¦ twitter.com/i/web/status/1ā€¦
In other words ā€¦

ā€œemotionā€

as a ā€œsomatic experienceā€ (ignore the brand)

is a kinesthetic, experiential occurrence that impacts how bodies animate, express, dampen, numb, dissociate, etc

Another point on #differentiation esp as it relates to #collaboration

quick šŸ§µšŸ‘‡šŸ¼
2/ when a person identifies themselves through #concepts they prize, hoard & claim them ā€œas theirsā€

and will sometimes ā€œdie for themā€

b/c of the mechanism of identification is #conceptual
with #somatic #differentiation comes an internal network of self-experience that gives one access to a felt sense of #emergence

where harmonies, symphonies, waves, charges, compressions, tightens

of #experience occur

a bit more about #somatic #internalization
... particularly my "housed in the body" phrasing šŸ‘‡
I know there is concern with "stored emotions in the body" language

I share that concern

but let's unpack what this means ...
my POV

the impact & expression of emotion is #embodied

there is simply no other way to experience #emotion

there is wide, wide diversity in each individual's expression and experience of #emotion

1/ Being a curious individual such I am, I often find myself fascinated by upcoming #web3 trends and topics. I recently acquired an NFT that itā€™s not your typical pfp. It is a changing NFT and today Iā€™m talking about #dynamicnfts and the smooth example of @rubberduckBP
šŸ§µ
2/ The majority of NFT Iā€™m used to (but I guess most of us are) are #staticnfts. It doesn't refer to the actual nature of the artwork. Videos, gifs, and others are still static nfts, while being dynamic in their form. A static nft though will remain unchanged over time.
3/ An NFT has 3 main core components: 1, the #smartcontract, which interacts with the blockchain and sets the parameters. 2, the actual NFT with a unique ID token. 3, the #metadata stored in the NFT, which defines the artwork and actually displays it.

For many companies across industries, #hybridwork will become the norm. Studies say employees prefer being mainly remote with occasional trips to the office to collaborate together. Here's why I believe the shift to hybrid will be massive and what drives it - a #thread šŸ‘‡
1. After a year of #remote work under less than ideal circumstances, employees expect flexibility and freedom, because they've shown they deserve it. Fewer employees than ever are ready to accept the commutes, the 9-5, and showing up to the #office just to be there šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
2. Now we know the values of remote work, but we've also extracted the things we love most about workspaces and want to recreate them. The offices have benefits for collaboration, creative thinking, and human connection and people want those things back but without the faults.

Yay! We're finally in! @ryanlepic's #HDLS14 Keynote starts with a glowing recommendation/introduction from @ErinWilkinson about the importance of Ryan's work on #SLMorphology and #UsageBasedApproaches and I couldn't agree more!
I love how Ryan's keynote starts with a nod to the oddity of doing work during Covid times and the routine, simple things we are missing by not traveling for #HDLS14 especially coffee from the UNM SUB Satellite Coffee and having Frontier burritos for lunch w/ friends
Once Ryan sets his @ryanlepic points out ASL's "structuralism problem" which is that we have been spinning our wheels by trying maintain theoretical assumptions such as one form = one meaning in morphological relationships. #HDLS14

Have you ever wondered how banks work?

We all use their services to varying degrees but do we know how they operate and make money?

A short thread
The business of banking is quite straight forward.

Take money from depositors, pay them interest. Lend money to borrowers , receive interest.

As long as the interest received exceeds the interest paid, the bank is happy and profitable.

Banking is one of the oldest businesses
Historically, banks would maintain sufficient "reserves" (cash/gold/silver/bronze ) to give depositors their money back on request.

This is how it should work right? But thatā€™s not the case today. There was an increasing need to grow the economy by increasing spending power..

My previous threads on #qualitative #interviewing referred mainly to one-to-one, semi-structured interviews. Research interviews, however, can be conducted in more than one way. #1 @AcademicChatter #phdchat #QualitativeResearch
@AcademicChatter In this thread, some different ways to conduct interviews are discussed, so have a look and see whether a different format could help answer your research question better. #2
@AcademicChatter The social research literature categorises research interviews roughly into #structured, semi-structured, and unstructured interviews based on the degree of #planning or preparation from the interviewerā€™s side and the #leeway available for participants in their responses. #3

šŸ”“ā¬ Here I start a thread about some Oracle Database concepts. We will see how far it goesā€Š-ā€Šall questions/comments welcome.
šŸ”“ā¬ A database (or DBMSā€Š-ā€Šdatabase management system) stores (for short and long term) and manipulates (from many concurrent users/devices) your #data.
šŸ”“ā¬ #data is logically structured (tablespaces, schemas, tables, columns, datatypes, constraints,ā€¦). The structure is described by #metadata.
