#Bitcoin Nakamoto Consensus is revolutionary and the publication of #Avalanche Consensus in 2018 was also groundbreaking

Yet both protocols have their own strengths and weaknesses

We asked: what if we could use their unique properties to compliment each other?
#Web3 #Blockchain eCash with Avalanche and Nakamoto Consensus - Fixing the Blo
In simple terms, #Bitcoins Nakamoto Consensus keeps a "written history" that is secure and fully trustless, but inefficient 📜

#Avalanche is efficient & fast at keeping an "oral history" that is unfortunately only trustless if you are there in the moment to witness it 🗣️
Here comes #eCash🌐 and its mission is to scale, massively. Since the beginning of the project, the development team has declared what is necessary to achieve this

One item needed, is "Pre-Consensus". It would enable fully secure settlement of transactions within seconds...

To all #eCash Holders!

Cashtab.com is a nice, easy to use wallet. It's your go-to wallet for eTokens and quick day to day transactions

⚠️But for multiple reasons I would not advise to use a webwallet like Cashtab for storing high amounts of your coins⚠️

As you may know, Cashtab doesn't need to be downloaded, it's a web wallet that stores all data in your browser cache

It's therefore easy to setup and hard to censor, because it doesn't need to go through the appstore or playstore

It's also compatible with most devices

But...
But the browser cache is an intricate space. It may happen for various reasons, that your browser decides to delete your keys

While this problem has been mitigated to the greatest extend, some storage-cleaner app or yourself might accidentally delete the cache

Therefore...

Why am I excited about the #eCash #Chronik project? (And why you should be excited too!)

An indexer is a basic piece of blockchain infrastructure, sounds pretty boring.

But in this case there are lots of interesting effects of this project, read on to find out more!

/Thread
BTW, it's nice to see others excited about this also.

An immediate benefit @CainBCHA mentions is that it will make #Cashtab faster.

But what's special about Chronik? Aren't there already other indexers in existence?

/2
Yes, in fact there seems to be an over-abundance of blockchain indexers out there! A few examples are:

- Blockbook
- Bitcore
- BTCD/BCHD nodes
- bcoin/bcash nodes
- SLPDB
- psf-slp-indexer
- ElectrumX
- Fulcrum
- and many more

So why add one more to the mix?

We'll be rolling out "Avalanche Post-Consensus" soon -- which is running Avalanche on blocks.

Avalanche Post-Consensus brings 2 key benefits to the eCash network:

1⃣ 1-block Finality ⚡️💳
2⃣ 51% Attack Prevention 👺🛡️

Let's explore the benefits in detail! ⬇️

2/
1⃣ 1-block Finality ⚡️💳

Finality is the assurance or guarantee that transactions cannot be altered, reversed, or canceled after they are broadcasted.

Businesses need to know exactly when a transaction is final and can’t be reversed.

I love how you can watch the history of literal wars ticking in while a node is syncing.

Every time I'm watching a node sync, I get to relive all the history of #Bitcoin, #BitcoinCash, #BSV and #eCash.

Lemme give you a glimpse. Image
Here's the Bitcoin Cash hard fork in August 2017. You can see how initially blocks are super spaced out.

Due to the higher difficulty, there were only a few benevolent miners.

Later, it's able to process many more blocks, as BCH had much less usage.

Bitcoin Cash was born. Image
Here's the "stresstest" the camp that much later became BSV did in October of the same year. It takes much longer to process blocks as they're filled up to the max.

Back then, the maximum block size was just 8 MB, so my node still only takes a few seconds for each block. Image
