Description of the origin of Ekadashi.
एकादशी की उत्पत्ति भगवान श्रीविष्णु के देह से बद्रिकाश्रम कि सिंहावती नाम की बारह योजन लम्बी गुफा जहाँ भगवान विष्णु शयन कर रहे थे वहाँ हुई है।
एकादशी की उत्पत्ति मुर नामक दैत्य को समाप्त करने के लिये हुई।

#Ekadashi means Eleven. It is the 11th Tithi in a hindu calendar. Ekadashi occurs 2 times once in waxing phase shukla paksha and once in waning phase Krishna paksha of the moon. Lord Vishnu goes to a long sleep in the Ksheer Sagar (milky ocean) on this day I.e into Yoga Nidra
1day for Devaloka is equal to 12 months of Human time span. 6months is considered half a day for Gods. Maha vishnu sleeps and wakes up on the Vaikunta Ekadashi of Margasheersha (December) I.e end of 6months.
This day, a huge yatra or religious procession of pilgrims known as Pandharpur Ashadi Ekadasi Waari Yatra culminates at Pandharpur, in Solapur district in south Maharashtra, situated on the banks of the Chandrabhaga River.
Today is an auspicious day of #DevshayaniEkadashi and the start of chaturmas. During the upcoming 4 months, Lord Sri Hari Vishnu will go to Yog-nidra (deep sleep) for 4 months. No auspicious tasks mainly marriage can be culminated during these 4 months.
