🧵Ukraine War Update

Once it became clear the Russians had no intention to launch a winter offensive, I’ve steadily come to believe they concluded no later than summer 2022 that they must prioritize preparations to face a possible direct NATO intervention in this war.

1/23
I am increasingly persuaded the introduction of the American “wunderwaffen” (M-777 and HIMARS) has overridingly influenced Russian prosecution of this war – not on account of these particular systems’ battlefield efficacy – but by what they symbolized:

2/
The US having “raised the stakes” in this fashion, the war was instantly transformed into an escalatory duel.

And that realization has, in my estimation, strongly influenced everything we have seen the Russians do since then.

🧵Nothing As It Seems

It appears the madness in the empire’s star chambers has been cranked to 11, and they have gone and royally beclowned themselves with this “document leak” PSYOP.

And make no mistake, a PSYOP is precisely what we are dealing with here.

1/
Not only is it inarguably a PSYOP, but it is one that must have been conceived at the highest levels of the ruling junta.

How do we know this?

BECAUSE THE REACTION OF ALL THE EMPIRE’S POWER APPARATUS HAS BEEN TIGHTLY COORDINATED AND CAREFULLY SCRIPTED!

2/
Not only that, but the dopes bumbled and provided their patsy with documents whose provenance necessarily traces to TWO siloed sources: The DoD *AND* the CIA.

(Larry Johnson talks about this today in a short interview on Judging Freedom.)

@SydneyFreedberg Response🧵

That's a pretty mediocre strawman construction.

In any case, I never suggested the US/NATO are "dangerous" -- except to themselves and Ukraine.

NATO built its Mother of All Proxy Armies in Ukraine to harm Russia, which has responded by destroying it.

1/12 Image
@SydneyFreedberg The original, very formidable AFU was wrecked by July. The second, much smaller and more poorly equipped NATO/AFU hybrid army has now been wrecked, necessitating this current attempt to cobble together a third, which will be substantially weaker than the previous two.

2/
@SydneyFreedberg The Russians wrecked the first two armies with one hand tied behind their back. Now they have mobilized, equipped, and trained 300k reservists + ~100k new volunteers. In total, they have close to 500k uncommitted troops poised to move when Gerasimov gives the order.

Short🧵

The original NATO-trained AFU was ruined by July.

In late August there appeared a smaller army based on NATO training, equipment, and the cream of the AFU mobilization crop -- plus several thousand "foreign volunteers" -- including at least hundreds of Americans.

1/
It has now emerged the Poles have already lost ~5000 casualties on Ukrainian battlefields.

The current Polish government will almost certainly not survive this debacle.

There are at least hundreds more from other countries, including the US.

2/
Many mocked my blog post of September 30th – entitled Turning Point.

Few saw in the battle for Liman a turning point that favored the Russian military position.

And yet here we are: Ukraine is at its weakest ever; Russia at its strongest.

🧵Ukraine War Thoughts – 2022_11_17

There are increasing signs the narrative field is being sown to condition the public mind for Zelensky's predestined fall from grace.

Ukrainian leadership is exuding desperation.

They know the true score.

They know time is running out.

1/
They know their autumn “conquests” were Pyrrhic in the extreme – many thousands of casualties and severe losses of equipment without ever inflicting a meaningful defeat on Russian forces, who are content to fall back to prepared lines to await the next wave of cannon fodder.

2/
They know and are humiliated by how the Russians effected, with impressive speed and negligible cost, the withdrawal of over 20,000 troops and their equipment from Kherson, over what were (allegedly) acutely vulnerable and tenuous lines of communication across the Dnieper.

🧵Pompeo's Bats in the Belfry

My reactions to Gonzalo Lira’s commentary on Mike Pompeo’s recent “Three Lighthouses for Liberty” speech – a brazen compendium of transparent lies and cynical projection:

1/

I am not yet persuaded Pompeo is “speaking for the entire American foreign policy establishment.” I continue to believe there is a powerful contingent of realist-leaning wiser heads, at least in the Pentagon.

Pompeo is only speaking for the #EmpireAtAllCosts death cult.

2/
It remains to be seen whether or not these would-be Praetorian Guards of American hegemony have or will yet attain decisive policy-making power within the US government. If they continue ascendant, I believe they will be forcefully opposed at a critical juncture.

🧵Why the US/NATO could never win and will never fight a war against Russia – unless the #EmpireAtAllCosts cult somehow seizes the reins of power, in which case, it will become the biggest catastrophe in US military history, and likely result in a nuclear war:

1/
For me, one of the most intriguing aspects of the unprecedented levels of propaganda beclouding the ongoing Ukraine War are the incessant claims, from the very beginning, of the alleged strategic, tactical, and logistical ineptitude of the Russian military.

2/
The theme of the bumbling Russians was clearly preconceived and coordinated, and commenced in earnest within the first 24 hours of hostilities. It is also apparent, to me at least, that it has emanated almost exclusively from the CIA/MI6 analyst/think-tank complex.

🧵The Geostrategic Importance of Kaliningrad

So the most recent move on the RISK board sees the US and its dutiful NATO vassals opting to play the Suwalki Gap card.

Let’s explore the likely perspectives of the respective combatants.

1/
For Russia:

Kaliningrad is a geostrategic imperative. Its defense would entail all the levels of escalation on the meter.

For the US/NATO:

“Restoring” Kaliningrad to the west would represent a *major* geostrategic setback for Russia.

I recently stumbled on this brief post. I’m not familiar with the site, whether it is prominent or obscure. It doesn’t matter. What I recognized in these few paragraphs was the textual imprint of a likely intel / propaganda operation.

🧵Ukraine War Summary – June 10, 2022

Reports now emerging that Ukrainian troops trapped in the industrial zone of Severodonetsk are seeking dialogue pursuant to surrender. Meanwhile all AFU resistance in the Donbas is rapidly collapsing.

Let’s review what led us here:

1/
The US spent eight long years and billions of dollars attempting to turn Ukraine into a radicalized proxy army they believed could deal an existential blow against Putin and Russian geopolitical resurgence. It was made into the largest and best-armed army in Europe.

2/
The US knew this would become a provocation the Russians could not abide. And yet Putin was extremely patient, until the US persuaded Ukraine in late 2021 they were now powerful enough to reclaim the Donbas and Crimea, which they began to position to do.

🧵Ukraine War Update – June 9, 2022

The following thread is based on a reply I made to a follower in response to him linking me to a tweet by @KimDotCom:

1/
The US spent eight long years and billions of dollars attempting to turn Ukraine – and especially its 100k+ neo-Nazi troops – into a proxy army they believed could deal an existential blow against Putin and Russian geopolitical resurgence.

2/
Although Russia dealt severe blows to Ukrainian air power in the first few hours of hostilities, I think the Russians were genuinely surprised by Ukrainian competence and firepower … for about a week. No more.
