Next time someone declares #SARSCoV2 #COVID19 has reached #endemicity, please ask them to specify which kind of endemic situation we’re now in: #holoendemic or #hyperendemic? Holoendemic means it affects certain age groups, usually #children, hyperendemic means all age groups
Because #SARSCoV2 will not disappear anymore & that is not a good thing - for sure no reason for a „Freudentag“ (day of joy). We will have one more unpredictable virus that sickens us, probably on top of influenza waves if it becomes seasonal. Long-term strategies are needed.
We will come out of the pandemic situation, stop wearing masks, social distancing etc, but we will still need to deal with #SARSCoV2 (hopefully not in such dimensions though). As tired as we all are, false hopes & politically motivated freedom days won’t help, uncertainty remains
