In the UK, the number of prosecutions & convictions for rape is down to the lowest level since annual recording began. In Ireland, 50% of women experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, compared to a fifth of men.

Bimpe(Pseudo) was still in a happy mood a day to her 20th birthday when Sule(Pseudo- an acquaintance) invited her to come collect her birthday gift, when she got there, he persuaded her to enter his house, immediately she entered, he locked the door & gave her series of slaps.
After giving her series of slaps, Sule forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
When Bimpe confronted the rapist & reported him to his family, He liaised with some rogue police officers to frustrate her life as she got arrested twice claiming she tried to defame him.

Thankfully, with our intervention, Bimpe was released; after which we formally petitioned the C.P to investigate the matter; Afterwards, the suspected rapist was arrested & charged to Court.

2. Why is International Day to #EndViolenceAgainstWomen women still needed? 49 countries have no laws against any violence in a marital/intimate relationship (also known as domestic abuse/violence). In 37, rapists escape prosecution if married to or eventually marry the victim
3. Across the world, including in the UK, women who are killed are more likely to be killed by partner, ex-partner or family member than any other category of person. In UK, two women per week are killed by partner or ex.
