THREAD - Amidst the societal upheaval of a global pandemic, BLM protests, and China-Hong Kong relations, some good news on voting rights for EU citizens, specifically Polish citizens in the UK & UK citizens in Poland. #eucitizensrights
In Parliament last week, @morton_wendy confirmed that a bilateral agreement with Poland securing the rights to stand in local elections for UK Nationals living in Poland, and Polish citizens living in the UK.
This comes after bilateral arrangements with several individual Member States of the EU: in addition to Poland, voting rights treaties were signed in 2019 with Spain, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
