The EC President Ursula @vonderleyen held a very impressive wide ranging Q&A today with The European Parliament, focussed more on the #EuropeanGreenDeal and long term issues than #Ukraine. It is the first such Q&A with the President in 12 years.
The session demonstrates the unique qualities of the European Union and its Parliament as a deliberative multi-nation decision making body with very real powers in relation its sovereign members which are bound by mutual benefit rather than sanction.
@vonderleyen was asked and answered some very tough questions about the “rule of law” issues related to Poland and Hungary, two countries which are on the front line of the Ukraine refugee crisis.

We analyse whether the EU's response to the #COVID19 pandemic can be seen as a potential critical juncture for EU climate policy development, by tracing EU climate policy developments before and during 2020.
A critical juncture can be considered an event that moves policy/institutional development onto a new path, implying that it causes change.

A diet is about finding the right balance between energy demand and supply. I can reduce my consumption, switch to healthier fuels (less ‘fossil’ varieties, more ‘greens’). I can also exercise, making everything more #energyefficient. Setting targets is also important. 2/11

@MESandbu @EU_Commission Green Third Way lies between relying on the market to deal w climate crisis and Green New Deal policies that view the state as critical for structural transformation for the low carbon economy.
@MESandbu @EU_Commission The Green Third Way basically seeks to nudge the market in the right direction. It uses public money as 'seed funding' to derisk new technologies and financial instruments. This nudging does not put in place green industrial policies that can engineer a fast and just transition
