This key piece of software is responsible for keeping track of your autonomous drone fleet to ensure safety and efficiency. It has 5 main purposes:

🖥 Monitoring
🛫 Dispatching
🛂 Controlling
⚠️ Warning
🧠 Centralizing

Lets go through each area in depth!
2/
🖥 Monitoring
The holistic overview of your entire fleet, regardless of product type:

- eVTOL
- UAV
- AAV

This part of the system allows you to see where every unit is and the direction they are moving as well as their current flight route.

@AlefAeronautics debut a novel Flying Car, aim for it to be capable of VTOL so capable of flying without needing a runway.

Personally I think even it works it'll neither make a good car, or a good aircraft, but then I've yet to see any design that might be good at both.
@AlefAeronautics This is the launch video (with fixed audio as the original launch video had screwed up audio) :

Even without the original audio fail the presentation still doesn't inspire much confidence there will be a vehicle on sale in 2025.
@AlefAeronautics The problem with these Flying Car projects they are trying to solve a problem that other vehicles solve it better.

Dedicated #eVTOL will be around by 2025, and will be faster and have better range.

And we'll have #robotaxi by 2025 so the need for owning a car will diminish.

Here are some more details about @theaircurrent’s #eVTOL scoop for those of you who haven’t made it behind the paywall yet. Two key points: 1) This is not about safety, and 2) Yes, the FAA is serious about this. 🧵 theaircurrent.com/aircraft-devel…
2/ Basically the FAA’s approach of using new performance-based Part 23 rules to certify eVTOLs was working fine. But Part 23 has historically been for airplanes, which begged a question: would eVTOLs operate like airplanes or helicopters or something in between?
3/ The FARs already have a definition for something in between: “powered-lift”. Maybe that could apply to eVTOLs? Powered-lift was added to the FARs to cover conventional tiltrotor pilot certification, but there are no operational rules for tiltrotors.

Thinking out loud here. We're now in the third "era" of #eVTOL development.

The first was pre-path-to-market tinkering, with visionary engineers at Zee, Joby, Kitty Hawk and a few other outfits working to bring early-stage electric VTOL to life.
The second era began when Uber Elevate launched, formalizing the nascent industry and presenting a clear vision of vehicle requirements and a conceptual path to profitable application.

This began the #eVTOL climb up the hype cycle in earnest & drove billions of investment.
As 2020 comes to a close, that era ends. Elevate, which dominated discussion of #eVTOLs for better/worse, is no longer a quasi-objective actor pushing vehicle development forward. The unit may continue in some limited form at Joby, but its presence will be irreversibly different.
