Ten ways to help prepare Y10 before the summer- (...and not leave it until the mocks!)

1. Provide consistent revision - avoid that overwhelming feeling in Y11 by starting bite-size revision now in breaks & hmk.
2. Use past papers to understand the exam format & timings only
3. Build a schedule for the lead-up to Y11 mocks- having a structured plan can help them stay on track and prepare ahead
4. Share staff availability - give time for them to opt-in and ask for extra help or clarification on topics they're struggling with.

#Exams #Revision
5. Create study groups - support them to work with peers & space who provide support and motivation

6. Help them organise -stationery, planners/revision cards, guides, that help track deadlines & revise content can help reduce stress & improve focus.

ChatGPT wrote a surprisingly (to me) coherent answer to a contracts exam prompt. ImageImage
I regenerated the response three times. This is the only one that discussed the reasonable expectations doctrine, though it wasn't particularly in-depth.
It would get a lot of "?" "why?" and "so?" responses from me because it doesn't explain why, for example, that the contract calls for "re-pav[ing]", sealcoating is excluded. It's mostly facts and conclusion.

The Limpopo Education department says it is looking into a matter involving a learner at #MotjediSecondary School in Tafelkop who is unable to write his National Senior Certificate final year examinations after the school allegedly failed to register him for his #exams. DR Image
#MatricExams This after the Congress of South African Students in the Sekhukhune region raised the matter, and regional chairperson Dineo Lekala, the school is alleging that the learner was absent when others were handed application forms to receive their exam time tables. DR
#MatricExams Lekala says the learner however affirms that he was present and even if he was not present on the day why was the form not given to him when he returned to school. DR

I'm receiving some concern from trainees @rcpsychTrainees and consultants @rcpsych about the proposed changes to use of #RCPsych in titles ("postnominals"), & accessibility of #AGM at #RCPsychIC. Information not easy to find so let me try to describe (Conflict of Int: FRCPsych)
Currently "MRCPsych" aka membership is used by doctors who have passed College #exams, and FRCPsych used by Fellows -essentially more senior members. These are the only 2 postnominals and have some other conditions. There are other ways of associating with the RCPsych though...
Specialist Associates @rcpsych are experienced psychiatrists in the UK,on the GMC specialist register but without the MRCPsych exams (eg if trained abroad to consultant level). Proposals introduce "SpARCPsych" and use FRCPsych for senior SpA (so FRCPsych no longer = passed exams)

So I had one lady who messaged me a couple of days back and seemed quite worried.
She told me that it was her 12 year old son who she was worried about.
She shared some screenshots from her mobile phone.
Writing this thread after seeking due consent from the lady. Do read.
She showed me a particular game that her son keeps playing. This was the game. I asked her what it was about.
She told me it was a fantasy love game where in the player had to "dress up and glam up" a girl who according the game developers was ugly looking/ dark / had bodily hair.
For reference take a look at this girl on the right.

#Children should not be made to suffer because of #Omicron. Centre and States must cancel all #offline #exams forthwith. As a nation, we cannot take such a massive risk & play with the lives of our children. Online prelims are done, marks should be part of board marksheet.
Children belong to households that have either lost family members due to #Covid19 or members who suffer from #comorbidities & cannot be vaccinated. #Omicron shouldn't be taken lightly. Save our children. Protect our children. Cancel all #offline #exams immediately.
