This is the Multi-anvil press ready to go. The experiment sits deep inside the cylinder in the center, with what look like door knobs on it, which we call the “hat box”.
Inside of the hat box is the cube assembly, as seen in the first photo. Here is the cube assembly fully built. The copper piece is an electrode used to heat the sample. The wires are used to measure the sample temperature. All of the components are assembled by hand for each run.
