An example of steering: an agent telling a client that it is a wonderful home and place while telling another client that it is a dangerous place. Knowing or unconscious biases? However, it is the Law so it doesn’t matter re motivation.

@EdTrust Reported in the trade press & examined further by academics & wonks like @EduBenM is a finding first made by @rkelchen that nearly half of Black student loan borrowers default over a 12 year repayment period. Nearly 1/4th of Black bachelor degree holders default. Horrible. 2/16

Black homeownership levels haven’t been lower since the 1960s, when race-based discrimination was legal. Now, the Trump Administration is making it harder for those who most need protection and making it easier for landlords to discriminate against people of color.
The #FairHousingAct bans discrimination based on race, country of origin, religion, sex, disability + familial status. @HUDgov's rule would make it harder for residents to win “#DisparateImpact” claims—propping up, rather than preventing, institutional discrimination and racism.
