@DrAmbardar @nytimes A huge thank you to Mr Babones for making an effort to investigate the facts behind the "protests" & displace some falsehoods, however, other key points have not featured in this report:
1. The Farm Laws are not a new set of reforms- these have been in debate & consultations 1/n
@DrAmbardar @nytimes for a number of decades. In fact even Congress included it in their 2019 manifesto. The claim that the Law was rushed through the Parliament is therefore grossly misleading.
2. NOT all the wealthy farmers are protesting the Law - only a miniscule number concentrated in 2/n
@DrAmbardar @nytimes Punjab & Haryana. India has a farmer population of around 150 million & typically only a few thousand attend these protests. That's not even 0.1%
4. Even the protests do not entirely relate to the substance of the Law. It's a well planned act of subversion by Khalistani 3/n

8 Crore business establishments went on a one day strike against #GST

1 Million #BankEmployee went on a two day #BankStrike against privatization of public sector banks.
12 Lakh #FarmersProtests are sitting at 3 entry points of Delhi since last 110+ days & #300DeathsAtProtest have lost their lives during this protest.

One mass murderer @narendramodi refuses to listen. He campaigns in #Bengal in the name of democracy
while quelling all dissent anywhere in the country. He wants to win #BengalElection2021 at any cost, even if it means fomenting trouble, riots, hate and bigotry.

And when he loses Bengal (which I believe he will), @JPNadda will take the blame....

Hello all! This is @SikhPA with our 3rd takeover of @NevilleSouthall's account!

Today we're talking to you about the biggest protest in history- the #FarmersProtest!

This protest in India has hundreds of millions of farmers & labourers participating & is over 100 days old!
The biggest protest in history!? Over 100 days old?

Yes that's right! So why haven't you heard about it?

Well some of you may have, but the likes of @piersmorgan are too busy bashing #HarryandMeghan to cover the biggest protest ever, so good old Neville Southall has stepped in!
A protest in India though? Why does that matter to the mostly Brit followers of Neville Southall we hear you ask?

All will be explained with tweets about corporate influence, fascism & even @rihanna! But first let us explain a few things...

Keep RTing & checking Nev's timeline!

Thousands of women joined #farmersprotests on the outskirts of Delhi to mark #IWD2021, demanding the scrapping of new laws that open up agriculture produce markets to private buyers
Since December, many farmers accompanied by their families have camped at three sites on the outskirts of the Indian capital to oppose the biggest farm reforms in decades, which they say hurt them
Wearing bright yellow scarves representing the colour of mustard fields, the women took center stage at one key site, chanting slogans, holding small marches, and making speeches through loudspeakers to target the laws

Its been more than 100 days since #FarmersProtests started and i went there again. The only other so well organised temporary setup i have seen is the Kumbh, that is what i felt, it was a feeling of pilgrimage there. So following is a thread of some videos i took
Farmers eat together, pray together and live together, they have got new friends and family here.
Nice and clean places to stay

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is struggling to beat back his biggest political challenge in years from #FarmersProtests movement which began with disgruntled farmers traveling to New Delhi on tractors and is now gaining wider support at home and abroad
Simmering in makeshift camps housing tens of thousands of farmers since last year, the movement has seen a dramatic growth in recent weeks, getting backing from environmental activists, opposition parties and even A-list Western celebrities
At its heart are three new farm laws passed by the government last September.

The new farm laws allow private retailers to buy farm goods directly from growers, circumventing India’s government-controlled wholesale markets

Lies and moral depravity of some in Indian media seem limitless.

Labelling farmers as separatists and terrorists; then moving onto Punjabi singers, global trade unionists, aid charities, climate activists and anyone speaking for #FarmersProtest human rights is beyond a farce.1/3
Don’t need lectures about patriotism from biased outlets when my grand & great-grandparents fought for Indian army.

Rest assured, baseless diatribe (further exposing shoddy journalism to global audience) won’t silence me from speaking truth to power & standing up for farmers.2/3
This comical “research”, which actually demeans journalism, accuses me of speaking at events I haven’t attended, receiving funding from Palestinian and Pakistani links, and being a racist too for good measure!

Modi Knows ...
Folks a Long Thread; Trust me it'll be worth ur while.

'Modi was right. We were wrong. Protesting farmers are checkmated!'
Ashish Shukla
9th Feb

I sense #FarmersProtests has lost its steam & this round goes to Modi, that is if there's still 2.0 waiting.

Not just ears, I've kept my eyes & nose too on the grnd. I sense the squatting farmers are more like deadwt on Delhi borders than a heaving humanity.

It’s not my instinct alone. There were dots connecting this farmers’ protest and one-by-one each have begun to disappear.
It’s just not @_YogendraYadav missing, or @rihanna and @GretaThunberg fading so quickly, or various kind of “Diwas” and “chakka-jams” being reduced to length of a matinee-show.

The biggest dots were politicians and press and those big guns have fallen silent.

Most Indian farmers have less than 2 hectares! And depend on state-guaranteed prices for wheat & rice. This has been the foundation for smallholder agriculture for decades. It's this system which is under threat from new agricultural laws.

Restrictions on buying farmland by non-farmers and companies in Karnataka have been removed. These were meant to protect farming communities from dispossession by corporate interests. The squeeze on farmers means a crisis for rural people, says Joshi

Highlights of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray’s press conference

• The farm law that the government has passed is not wrong. There may be a few shortcomings in that, which the respective state governments, as per their specific issues should coordinate with the central governments...
...and take it further. Power should be never be vested in the hands of a few people, that is the need of the hour and the people’s wish.
• The kind of security and surveillance present for the farmer's agitation is not required. This kind of patrolling mustn’t be present even on the borders of China or Pakistan.

India Farmers Protests Goes Vogue.

Celebrities, influencers – & British Vogue - suddenly interested in #FarmersProtests that began in Nov. Despite MASSIVE resistance, the protests have been largely ignored by Western influencers/NGOs, etc. So why now? Let's explore.
Twitter (tool of empire) promoted the #celebrity endorsement of Rihanna/Greta accounts – while it simultaneously banned/censored on the ground Indian farmers/activists. While highlighting Western #influencers, Twitter had deleted approx. 250 protest/alt media accounts in #India.
Rihanna/Thunberg accounts share CNN article which references Access Now, "an advocacy group which tracks internet freedom." In reality, Access began as an arm of Avaaz (Purpose), to destabilize #Iran. Another instrument of #empire.
