.@sunilkjakhar, then president of Congress; @Sandhwan, current Punjab Assembly Speaker, & many MLA's of Congress, AAP & SAD assured us that they are with the farmers, & will fight tooth & nail against any move by the Center Govt, to curtail MSP procurement from Punjab & Haryana !

In this thread I aim to acquaint ppl to a world which goes beyond these dominant ideas. The mainstream econ discourse, howev, often makes caricatures of opposing ideas & of critics. Eg: "they r ideologically driven". Or political, emotional, just jholawalas/activists. Etc.
What it does is primes young readers to think of the critiques of their ideas as intellectually inferior. Recently I came across such caricaturing in an article which argued that free Covid vaccination is not good, that vaccine allocation be "based on an economic way of thinking"

However odd it might seem, to me, astrologically, NaMo has made a sane call and probably saved India from fire. Reforms can wait.

CAA and 370 are different from #FarmLaws. Through farmers' protest, some elements were slowly turning, or trying to turn, our own people against our govt.
Don't be quick in losing respect for a person who tackled Art. 370 and revived Ram Mandir (please don't credit courts for this). Wait to see implications.
Have to feel sympathy for the Modi bhakts. They spent so much time and energy to defend the new #farmlaws only to have Modi announce that he's taking them back 😂
Even though it was the upcoming Punjab and UP elections that prompted him to repeal the farm laws, one must also give homage to the resilience, patience and strength of the farmers who protested for over a year to bring about this change.
Victory belongs to those who believe in it the longest. Sikhs have never backed down from fear of adversity, retribution or scorn. They tried their mightiest to discredit the resistance movement but like always, the indomitable spirit of "Nischay kar apni jeet karhu" won.

1. #OROP I read lot of tweets on #OROP. Generally the pattern is same. There is a case pending in SC for which I heard in Oct 2020 or so that final date of hearing is to be given by SC. Each time next date is given assigning no reason. Yesterday, again, fresh date was given.

Ordinarily fucking endless paeans will be written on Dravid's greatness but when suddenly it is time to take a stand, his unwillingness to do so is immediately forgiven and forgotten and suddenly we're reminded he isn't the legend that Sachin is. Make up your fickle minds.
Cricketers don't speak up because they are castigated when they do. They speak up in support of their nation against foreign interference seeking to ignite a bogus protest on an issue that there was national consensus on until the unfettered right to baseless protest arrived.
