With more than 16,000 people arrested in the L.A. Riots in 1992 compared to what appear to be far smaller numbers nationwide today, one wonders whether: 1) the scale of the looting and arson is far smaller and only seems bigger due to social media... /2
2) whether there are fewer arrests because law enforcement was told to stand down by progressive politicians who didn't want to confront the violence. Retreating in the face of violent anarchy is always a bad idea as unthinking mobs get out of hand fast. /End
