LAGOS CALLS FOR PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATION IN MEAT, FISH VALUE CHAINS

Lagos State Government has called for private sector collaboration in its agriculture sector particularly in the Red Meat Value Chain, Artisanal Fisheries and Livestock Feed Mills.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya who made the call in Lagos over the week explained that this is in line with the State Government’s five-year strategic agriculture roadmap.
She noted that the State Government has identified many areas of investment opportunities for the private sector participants particularly in the three Value chains hence the need for the collaboration.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr.@TFayinka, the resolution was reached on Thursday, after thorough consideration by all parties to effectively eliminate the traffic congestion experienced in the State through Ports activities.
Fayinka said, “The parties agreed that a new e-call up system will commence on Saturday 27th February 2021, as the existing call up for trucks will be discontinued from tomorrow, 26th February 2021, due to its inefficiency to manage truckers operations in and out of the ports”.

The Commissioner for Transportation, @dr_oladeinde, stated that the total closure of the bridge for 24 hours is to enable the contractors remove heavy equipment used during the rehabilitation and allow the full reopening of the Oworonshoki and Adeniji bound lanes to traffic.
The Commissioner, therefore, advised motorists coming from Ogudu, Alapere and Gbagada to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu and Yaba as alternative routes.

He stated that sealing of the affected pharmacies and patent medicine stores was in accordance with the provisions of Section C34 of the Counterfeit, Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods Miscellaneous Provision Act of 1999.
