This is the most insidious part of the whole thing. The act was declared Feb 15th. They created a new set of rules and are retroactively punishing people harshly for doing something they had no idea, at the time they donated, was going to grow into something "illegal" 1/

Does anyone know, what date was the protest declared "illegal" by the authorities?
I don't mean what day a politician or police chief Tweeted it
I mean when was any official documentation signed & presented to the public? Or was Feb 15 the 1st time it was declared officially? 2/

Our nation, and every province and territory in it, has an Emergency Broadcast system.
Did anyone receive a message regarding the "National State of Emergency"?
How about Ford's Provincial one?
I know I received them back in 2020 for the pandemic 3/

Back from a walk downtown and as someone who studies protest camps, the idea of #FreedomConvoyCanada as an #OttawaOccupation is spot on. It has all the hallmarks of a protest camp in that it is a both an act of protest & social reproduction #FluTrucksClan

Urban protest camps can feed off city infrastructure (gas & food) and also supplements it. Scattered downtown are tables full of supplies, socks, granola bars, shovels and stacks of TP. There also appear to be people with sleds pulling supplies around.

It's also interesting to note how clean (for now) the streets are. On my walk through I saw a few small teams actively cleaning the streets and filling garbage bags. Of course, this is key for one's image.

These are texts the Toronto contact for the Truckers’ convoy calling itself a Freedom Rally sent me. After calling CBC a virus, he goes on to call me a “slave blooded traitor” that will “swing” in time. All I asked for was an interview. #FreedomConvoyCanada #FreedomConvoy2022

CLARIFICATION: I received these texts after reaching out to a Toronto contact number listed on a website for the convoy. The texts came from a different number than the contact number. The texter did not identify themselves.

I was then also sent another message from another number telling me to "watch as we lockdown Ottawa". My number is not publicly listed.
