Hakeem goes about his life, plays soccer, gets married and decides to go to Thailand for a honeymoon. He is told it’s safe to do so. At the same time Australian Federal Police tell Thailand that he’s on his way and they can arrest him on an Interpol red notice. With me so far?
Thailand arrest him. Interpol withdraws it’s red notice, which should not have been issued for a refugee in the first place. However Thailand keeps him in jail and lets Bahrain file an extradition request. Which they claim they will consider.
