We've heard from SO MANY Indivisibles today with messages ranging from anger and despair to a renewed commitment to fight like hell for voting rights and the #ForThePeopleAct. We heard you. Now, we need you to hear us — because this fight is FAR from over.
First, @Sen_JoeManchin's op-ed is riddled with historical falsehoods and bizarre, antiquated political analysis. We don't need to get into that, but @RepMondaire did a perfect thread on it ICYMI.

In 2020, Missouri voters voted for Medicaid expansion. In 2021, the GOP majority legislature said, “Nah”.
In 2018, voters approved a minimum wage ⬆️. It got on the ballot by petition.
In response, the MO House passed bill requiring 2/3 of voters to approve petition measures.
DO YOU SEE A PATTERN, HERE?

You tell your legislators what you want, but when they get re-elected, they feel comfortable telling you to F off.

Your power is to make them unemployed if they don’t honor majority consensus.

Use your power to curb theirs.
Vote for better.
You see it repeated everywhere the GOP is in charge of state legislatures, and you see it on the federal level.

And now GOP state legislatures are trying to suppress voting, so they can avoid ever being responsible to voters.

#FTPA is vital to democracy.

Basic rule of laws: there are always incomplete, in that they never cover every aspect of every eventuality, leaving scope for political interpretation

Of course, acceptability is a vague thing, hence the efforts now to capture and frame the issues, to try and push political actors in particular actions
