A couple of years ago Covid arrived in the uk and found us woefully unprepared. Pandemic preparedness PPE stocks were out of date, the government were slow to respond and so by the time they did they were in a flat panic.

They used this state of panic to justify shortcutting proper procedure and fast tracking their unqualified friends for huge PPE contracts despite there being numerous professional suppliers, thus transferring billions of pounds of public money to their friends.
