Some jobs are not advertised, but you are invited to apply based on referrals.

My first paid NGO job was with KAF-Zim as a Programme Officer in 2002. The Res Rep asked for referrals from his network, 2 leaders I have volunteered for, separately recommended me for the interview.
At any stage in your career, you will not have the required skills or experience from paid wok, you can develop this from volunteer work.

I learnt program design and coordination from volunteer positions I held in high school, college and even now 20 years into NGO global work.

No one has exact figures on the “size” of the global leadership industry, or leadership development market, or whatever you prefer to call it. I have seen numbers from $14B to $24B to $366B (wow) back down to $44B. I honestly don’t think people know what is even involved in these
big numbers. I would guess we are talking mostly about books, speeches (speaker fees?), training modules, training programs, and the like. I’d speculate (but don’t know) that a huge chunk of that is book publishing. A book on every leadership angle has seemingly been written.

When I was at Harvard Med School and at an esteemed children's hospital, a case against an esteemed professor, that NO lawyer would touch cuz this was someone who had WRITTEN the textbooks and trained every expert, was won ..based on "a document was deleted" - creating suspicion
"Sunlight is the best disinfectant" you will hear me say OVER and OVER - wins & losses *should* be on data/standards but unfortunately wins & losses are in the court of public opinion. So be reliable, credible, and trustworthy. Transparency is one way to achieve that reputation.

First of all, when I talk about #APIs, I mean HTTP-based interfaces connecting apps and backend servers as well as different services with each other. For now, the technical details, such as whether they use REST, GraphQL, gRPC etc., shall not matter. (1/100)
When humans interact with computers they require a user interface (UI), and when machines interact with each other they need application programming interfaces (APIs). At the end of the day, however, these have to be implemented by humans. Good #APIDesign considers both. (2/100)

Polite is a subjective term, often means aligning w/ status quo. Polite people quietly avoid bullies.
Yes, @KamalaHarris is able to smile through her debates and adhere to expected gender norms and avoid any hint of the racist trope of “angry” as a Black woman. But is that really what makes her qualified? Or is it a career worth of experience as well as times she persisted?
What are our priorities? In a busy world, we will only have a chance to achieve 3-5 max. If we put polite and being on time in those top 3-5, where does addressing safety, quality, inequity, mental health fall? Are we judging someone on timeliness who may have chronic illness?

In 2005, I set up a business selling CDs, namely mixtape CDs after graduating from Uni.

In 2006, my home was raided & my business was stopped. They said the CDs I was selling were in breach of copyright.
It was a complete shock as the exact same CDs I was selling were prevalent on most high streets and supermarkets. They were selling in their thousands in places such as #Tesco & #HMV. And #Woolworths were the actual UK Distributor of these CDs.
