I signed up for a LARP at #gencon so I reached out to the GM to say I was bringing a 6mo baby and could they incorporate that into my character?

But my character was really a sorcery-using spy for a rival kingdom, and the baby was really my cat familiar in disguise. They even wrote some custom abilities so that when I *appeared* to pause play to nurse or change a diaper, I was really receiving secret information. 2/3 
Everyone was delighted to have a baby as a character, and even more delighted to discover she had helped me spy on them.

Prequel: I had just come off the FAB event in Vegas, which felt remarkably, surprisingly safe overall (combination of Vegas, the awesome work by the game/event staff and the players). I got two different COVID tests between events and obviously both were negative. /c
My FAB group all tested negative, we'd worn masks the whole time and none of us were exhibiting any symptoms. Admittedly a short period between events, there was still a small possibility of course. Gen Con posse all knew I had been at an event shortly before, full disclosure /c
My name is Rob Vaux and I was the brand manager for 7th Sea 1E about 20 years ago. The Paizo situation has opened up trauma about the abuse @wickedthought inflicted on myself and other people while he was developing 7th Sea 1E.

The @Gen_Con game convention, Indiana's largest convention, has been canceled due to #coronavirus.
.@Gen_Con: "The safety and health of our attendees, exhibitors, and staff are of the utmost importance to us, and we cannot in good conscience host a gathering of thousands while doing so could threaten the health of so many."
2020 #GenCon registrants can either get a refund or roll over their registration for 2021.

We are a hobby and industry built around an important concept: delivering joy to people, and beyond that, to bringing people together. Families, friends, even strangers. It's important, and I'm proud of the overall positive things we accomplish. (1/4)
Today is the last day of what has been a wonderful #GenCon. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the tiniest bit afraid of being in a space with a lot of people in a hobby that has its fair share of angry young white men, given what's happened over the past 24 hours. (2/4)
But we will be there, and we will demo games, sell games, and share joy with everyone who walks through those doors, because it's good, and it's right. I'm never going to allow the worst of our society to prevent us from doing good things. (3/4)
