1/ Just got confirmation on official estimates. Approximately 4000 people attended the #BlackLivesMatter rally in Saskatoon yesterday. I've covered rallies in the city over the years. What I saw was unlike anything I've seen before. #yxe #skpoli

2/ The majority of those who attended were young people from diverse backgrounds. Many of the youth I spoke to were first-time rally attendees. It was also the first time I've seen Black youth at the forefront of an event and lead so publicly in the city. #yxe #skpoli
3/ There will be more analysis about this historical moment as events unfold in the upcoming weeks, months & years. There was a large Indigenous presence. The last biggest rally in #yxe was after #GeraldStanley was acquitted in '18.
