One year ago I started my PM career with a post on Twitter. Today I share with you my biggest learnings throughout the year. #givingback #product management
1/ Building trust is key when starting out as a PM. Don’t try to do everything at once like talking to more users, being more data-driven etc. First you need to excel with what already exists and only then you can start to uncover new growth levers for the team.
2/ Soft skills trump everything else and being able to manage your emotions is the most important skill of all. Meditation is the most powerful tool for this as it will help you to be in touch with what you're feeling and why.

As part of activities to commemorate our 3 years of operations at Ibom Air, we've gifted large umbrellas to street vendors in Uyo, Abuja, Bayelsa, Enugu & Port Harcourt so far.

Most recently, we hit the streets of Calabar & received a warm welcome from some very happy vendors
Thank you Calabar for having us! 🧡

Next stop #Lagos!

Thank you

This is hard to write but it is true for many. What I’m about to say is a harsh reality of what people go through.

What I am about to say is also the reason why a lot of people don’t ask for help.

People do not ask for help because of the fears and stigmas that exist.

#hope
Here Is Something to think about,

What if you were a #singleparent with a #child

You work full time for $15.00/hr

You take home roughly $960.00 per paycheck (bi-weekly after taxes)

#singleparent #parenting #Blessed #grateful #calgary #calgarylife #alberta #yyc

@EveryAlbertan
Your bills per month:

$1,000 or more for rent
$150 or more for cable/internet
$250 or more for utilities
$150 per month for car insurance

So let’s do the math

You bring home about
$1,920.00 a month

Your bills average about $1,500(give or take)

As promised, we will continue showcasing chapters from the Companion to Peace & Conflict Fieldwork. Today, I'll discuss the chapter by @FieldLarkspur & @mtsjohar - a convo btw an academic & a Rohingya refugee in India on #researchethics & #givingback.

palgrave.com/gp/book/978303…
(1/5) The chapter makes a range of important points about what displaced communities expect of researchers if they give their time. As @mtsjohar states, refugees hope that by sharing their experience, their situation will gain attention and this eventually will make a difference.
(2/5) The chapter reminds us that there are ways to engage with displaced communities in a less extractive way & respect participants' dignity. Build in time for relationship & trust building in the beginning, make return visits, make space for their voices on other plattforms.

Ok everyone this is serious.....the father of four that needs our help just called @HarvestHillsYYC and said that he has received his eviction notice for the end of the month.
I have been in contact with his landlord and the landlord has said to me that he would love to keep his tenants but unless he gets the rent by the end of the month....he is going to have to find other tenants who can pay rent or he has to sell his house and move out of AB
So please help this tenant and help the landlord too both keep roofs over their heads.

I have joined the Army of brave souls who completed their #PhD during the global #pandemic of 2020 #COVID19 . I am full of gratitude to everyone that contributed to this mammoth achievement directly or indirectly. 🎓👨‍🔬👨‍💼 @forbeslabumass @JWLeeJWL @UMassChemEng #microbiome #mucus ImageImage
I am looking into ways to have my name on the diploma to be 'Abhinav Priyanka Sharma'. My wife @priyankaitkar9 has contributed equally towards this degree emotionally. Without her love & support it would be incredibly hard to find the courage to keep going when I hit rock bottom.
My parents never went to college but made sure I had the best education possible. Even if that meant keeping me in the city away from them since the age of 5. They have invested their entire life emotionally and financially to my education. Hope I can give back as much as I can.

I am so pissed right now @jkenney YOU are not my premier!

I spent the past weekend helping Harvest Hills Cares Calgary help people, help seniors, help families who have no where else to turn when they should be turning to their GOVERNMENT! 1/?
A GOVERNMENT WHO IS SUPPOSED TO HELP AND PROTECT PEOPLE!!! Not squander away Albertans hard earned money by giving it to corporations and you’re good ole buddies who paid to get you elected! 2/?
I and the Harvest Hills Cares Calgary Team were the ones who provided necessary items and things to these Albertans. You and @RajanJSaw and the rest of the @Alberta_UCP have you’re god damn heads in the asses of big corporations when you should be making this province better 3/?

If there is someone who can assist a family in immediate need please DM @HarvestHillsYYC ASAP for more information. I would post the info here but it’s a tad bit sensitive.
All I can say is that:

Family 1: Single mom of 4 in need of assistance $1287.00 (needed)

Family 2: Single dad of 2 in need of partial damage deposit $650.00

Family 3: Senior in need of help with utilities due to province clawing back partial CERB/disability benefits $740.00
Family 4: Family of 8 in need of food assistance from HHCC $575.00

All these amounts are to either help take care of the bills in their entirety or to provide families and individuals and or seniors with a complete months worth of food assistance.

From one of the families Harvest HillsCares Calgary has helped:

I am beyond extremely grateful for the help we have received from HHCC. We were able to safely move out of our situation and have been guaranteed anonymity for the sake of my children.
We are so grateful for all the help we have gotten from everyone. Jenn & Hellberta.

We saw real honesty and support and compassion from Jenn & the Harvest Hills Cares Calgary team.

If you can donate to them please do as they rely entirely on donations to do what they do.

I have an idea:

If everyone dislikes/hates/does not approve of @jkenney and the UCP donors....why not regular everyday people like us donate to a grassroots organization or group that is struggling under the @Alberta_UCP government?
I’ve donated $100.00 to @HarvestHillsYYC and I challenge others to donate as well. Let’s show the @Alberta_UCP and @jkenney that we Albertans take care of our own since our own government doesn’t, can’t or won’t!

***Important News*** #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesdayNow #giving #givingback

Since no other group wants to take me up on my offer for free advertising. I am featuring:

**Harvest Hills Cares Calgary**

Facebook:

facebook.com/HarvestHillsCa…
This group provides tailored help to individuals and families and seniors in need. They are known for their food hampers. None of the food that goes into the hampers is wasted by the families helped.
This is because the family provides a grocery list and then volunteers go shopping and get the items on the list to put into the tailored food hamper.
