28 Days to In-Housing: STRIKE!

1/ Outsourced workers at @LSHTM will strike 18 to 20 July during LSHTM #graduation celebrations over poverty pay!

Support striking workers and their fight back against the #CostOfLivingCrisis by donating to the strike fund: actionnetwork.org/fundraising/ls…
2/ At the height of a #CostOfLivingCrisis, LSHTM tried to victimise its workers, taking disciplinary action against 6 workers for union activities! But they remain united in their demand for fair pay, having voted UNANIMOUSLY to strike! #SummerOfStrikes
3/ This majority-migrant & BAME workforce is paid the lowest grade at the University, despite others with similar responsibilities being paid higher! With inflation set to hit 14% for the UK’s poorest households, our workers cannot support their families on these poverty wages!

We are gathering today for courageous conversations, by collectively #crowdsourcing intelligence from the group. We want to deliver back that intelligence as learning... in REALTIME. What can we bring to the conversation? The network! Welcome @MarkBedell_KCPS & @AskAdam3!
Thank you for the warm welcome, Andy Krenz! Thank you for recognizing that we are all coming to this conversation at different levels. We are not all in the same place but we are willing to lean into these difficult conversations.💜 #BringPeopleTogether #Leadership #EdLeaders Andy Krenz. Director of Education, Thoughtexchange

I am #grateful for the opportunity given by #IWS_Network to share my story, struggles and success in the voices without frontiers (VWF).
My name is Betelhem, most people call me Betty and I prefer it that way. I was born 27 years ago to a young couple in AddisAbeba, the capital of #Ethiopia. #IWSVoices 1/n Image
My mom and me rather look like sisters. Despite being a teenager when she got me, she sacrificed her whole life to raise me up. She made sure I had the best #education possible. I am forever grateful to my mom sis & do everything to make her and God #proud. #IWSVoices 2/n Image

You know, I have so so so many thoughts about this topic. I’ll sum it up by:

Great for my @Morehouse brothers, but this story is still a band-aid on a massive problem.
You know about those stories that pop up in the news? The ones about how some disadvantaged soul goes through inordinate struggles to do every day activities, and receives the golden ticket to make their lives better?
Like this one, who gets a car from their boss for walking twenty miles to work,
