It’s wild to see this variant of a slide from my presentation making the case for GraphQL 4 years ago now in a keynote in front of #graphqlsummit. A lot has changed but the story has stayed consistent. 
I’m still not sold on federation and this #graphqlsummit keynote isn’t helping. The only case being made here is that “monolith” is a four-letter word, but then goes on to explain all the costs and difficulty setting up federation.
My suggestion to anyone thinking about this next step is to stay simple. Don’t pick up a tech that requires complex/paid software out of fear of what might come. Respond dynamically to real problems that arise.
