1/ Why nuclear power is safe.

We have spent 70 years operating nuclear reactors around the world and they have the best safety record of all power generation in the history of mankind.
2/ Less than 100 people have been killed because of nuclear power.

All the statistics and studies after the accidents show “expected deaths” from cancers.

One problem…
3/ None the “expected deaths” have come to pass.

There has been no increases in the cancer rates of the populations surrounding Chernobyl, Fukushima or Harrisburg.

But there are some cancers where there seemed to be increased number such as thyroid cancer.

One of the ways we can defeat the idiocracy is to champion new and better nuclear technology. Educate yourself about the benefits and think what clean, cheap energy could mean for the entire planet. #GreenNuclearDeal

"Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL) developed a radiation-resistant material that efficiently captures radioactive gases that are released during the recycling of spent nuclear fuel.

The new material greatly simplifies the recycling process, reduces the volume of nuclear waste that needs to be stored, and adds further economic incentives.

The trapped gases can be reused for a variety of products ranging from medical devices to commercial lighting.

This film by Jeff Gibbs, executive produced by Michael Moore is worth the time. I disagree with it's conclusions and don't understand why #GenIVNuclear is not mentioned as an alternative. It's safe, sustainable, and burns nuclear waste for fuel.
The billionaire capitalists are painted as the villains, and deservedly so. The interesting thing is which billionaires and organizations they refer to.

The answers might surprise you. It seems many of our 'Save the Planet' folks are in cahoots with the 'Make Hay While the Sun Shines' folks.

@BernieSanders “To be sure, the left and the media have lost their way propagating doomsday. But as countries like China continue to lead the rise in global emissions, prescribing nothing in the way of sensible environmental policy is a bad approach.”

Bravo @GOPLeader

As a Democrat who has been seeking bi-partisan solutions to climate change for over a decade, I was thrilled to see the statement by Leader McCarthy.

Bernie Sanders says he’s against nuclear because we don’t know what to do with the waste

It’s a lie

- “waste” from nuclear is the only energy waste we have a solution for

- solar produces 300x more waste & it’s dumped on African nations

- wind turbine waste going to landfills
"The lithium batteries in solar lanterns are difficult to recycle. They are often dumped or even burned with other trash... Rooftop solar systems connect to lead acid batteries that last five to eight years if properly maintained, and then are discarded"

nytimes.com/2019/05/12/cli…
"While most of a turbine can be recycled or find a second life on another wind farm, researchers estimate the U.S. will have more than 720,000 tons of blade material to dispose of over the next 20 years, a figure that doesn't include taller versions."

“Where there is no vision the people shall perish”

The vision is #GreenNuclearDeal!
“Is Congress really comfortable standing by as nations partner with China & Russia? If so, it should inform the public that it has decided to cede our historic role as creator & steward of the most sensitive dual-use technology to our geopolitical rivals”
