OK people, settle down for a long thread about why I decided Andrew O'Hagan's piece in the @LRB about #GrenfellTower was seriously flawed. I started from a small issue and moved outwards to conclude he may have got too close to his subjects, the councillors and staff of #RBKC
Ohagan says glibly 'many meetings are held in private' but doesn't explain the why or the how, which is a pretty big oversight
As any local governance expert would have told him, had he asked anyone other than #RBKC insiders keen to exculpate themselves, there are principles that go back to a Private Members Bill introduced by Margaret Thatcher in the 60s, and regulations introduced as recently as 2014
