"apna" is inspired by the Bollywood Anthem “Apna Time Aayega” from the movie #GullyBoy (India's Oscar Nomination for 2019). It is a movie about an aspiring hip-hop artist who makes it big despite all odds.
A boy born to humble beginnings with big dreams. He is faced with many personal setbacks; but makes the conscious choice to rise above it all. Through pure hard work, determination, and relentless hustle, he becomes India's favorite rapper.
#FamilyMan2 shows Samantha Akkineni’s character Raji using brownface -- but brownface is very, very common in Indian entertainment industry.

So let's go back in time and talk about some things that didn't happen in Hindi film industry. THREAD
1. #GullyBoy was first planned as a two hero film spear headed by the two powerhouse of actors - #RanbirKapoor (MC Sher) and @RanveerOfficial with @aliaa08. Things didn't work out and the role of MC Sher eventually went to @SiddhantChturvD, who emerged a star post release.
2. #Zero, earlier titled #KatrinaMeriJaan, was set in Mumbai and Merut. The protagonist was to feature in a double role of dwarf and superstar, while #Katrina played herself in the film. It was a love triangle of #Katrina's rebound love to dwarf after break up with the superstar
