#GeetaDutt made her playback debut under Hanuman Prasad in 1946, but it was #SDBurman whose 'Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Gaya' from Do Bhai (1947) made her an overnight sensation. Notice how her voice ebbs & rises to fit the melancholy & angst of the song. She was barely 17 here!

Dear #Mumbai:Is this ur 11 year gift to me: acute bronchitis & loads of meds?The doc looked apologetic while checking out my nearly wheezing state. It all started with the big #Deonar dumpyard fire of 2016, followed by3more huge fires (apparently manmade)in 3 weeks 😡#AirQuality
I’d hardly coughed b4 that, now I dread December-1 of my favourite months.When #Gulzar wrote “seene mein jalan, ankhon mein toofan sa kyon hai, is shahar mein har shaqs pareshaan sa kyon hai...”did he predict my condition&of several thousand #Mumbaikars just wanting to breathe.
