This lesion had a deceptive squamo-transtional look on low power..some areas showed well developed stratified mucin though...on closer look, almost all of this tumor has mucin, though not very conspicuous.

Placental site trophoblastic tumor!
* Derived from implantation site intermediate trophoblast
* Polygonal cells with irregular, hyperchromatic nuclei
* Dense eosinophilic cytoplasm
* "Splitting" of myometrial fibers
* Tumor cells often invade into vessels (lower right)

39 y/o woman with abnormal uterine bleeding. Endometrial curettage and hysterectomy showed a 1.1 cm lesion on the endometrial surface #gynpath

Last known pregnancy was 44 months ago. The lesion had a confluent cellular nodular proliferation of epithelioid cells with necrosis, positive for p63
Lesion also had a sheet-like infiltrative component in myometrium, positive for hPL

2. Clinical: Uncommon tumors. Well circumscribed, may slowly enlarge over time. Size usu. up to 4cm. Historically (and on boards/RISE exams presently)more common in men, but now seem to occur equally in men and women.
