What House appropriators did yesterday is nothing short of remarkable. They moved significant immigration changes on a bipartisan basis. This is exactly what the House Judiciary Committee has failed to do for many years. appropriations.house.gov/news/documents…
Despite 75% of House members supporting #HR392, the bill has failed to receive so much as a Judiciary committee hearing. Yet appropriators quickly passed it. They also reformed the broken #H2A & #H2B programs, both of which have long had bipartisan support in the House
They also protected the DACA eligible population from deportation and stopped the implementation of Sessions' guidance banning immigrants from claiming asylum on the basis of domestic and gang violence.
