और राजा बलि के साथ रहने लगे मांलक्ष्मी ने भगवान विष्णु के साथ वैकुण्ठ जाने का निश्चय किया,उन्होंने राजा बलि को रक्षा धागा बांधकर भाई बना लिया।राजा ने लक्ष्मी जी से कहा कि आप मनचाहा उपहार मांगें। इस पर मां लक्ष्मी ने राजा बलि से कहा कि वह भगवान विष्णु को अपने वचन से मुक्त कर दें
और भगवान विष्णु को माता के साथ जानें दें। इस पर बलि ने कहा कि मैंने आपको अपनी बहन के रूप में स्वीकार किया है। इसलिए आपने जो भी इच्छा व्यक्त की है, उसे मैं जरूर पूरी करूंगा। राजा बलि ने भगवान विष्णु को अपनी वचन बंधन से मुक्त कर दिया और उन्हें मां लक्ष्मी के साथ जाने दिया
