So @haruki_zaemon asked me what to get for podcast production. I’ll throw a few thoughts into this thread, and see where we go. The first think I’ll say, though, is that this is a trainspotter’s rabbit-hole. Everyone thinks they know What You Simply Must Have. They are wrong...
I’ll say up front, therefore, that you shouldn’t get hung up over the equipment. Your content is the important bit, and you just need to record that as best you can with the equipment you have. Same as photography.
I’ll also say up front that @Pollytics talked about this the other day, and this thread and its branches provide some interesting background too.

He can’t even keep his logic straight. He manages to claim that such a system is a conspiracy meant to hurt minorities while also arguing it is unfair to the majority. Which only makes sense by creating a hypothetical where minorities are the majority.
The truth is that the only reason Hayes has an issue with the electoral college is because it led to a result he didn’t like. His demagoguery and refusal to confront the actual arguments about why we have such a system make that clear.

Blago was one of the most corrupt politicians in the most corrupt state in the country. Just based on what he was convicted for (there was more): he tried to sell Obama’s Senate seat and extort campaign $ to direct state funds to a race track and children’s hospital. #HeadDesk
I get that Trump doesn’t really mind corruption, but this is also politically dumb. Why would you waste political capital on a corrupt politician from the opposing party? (Because you liked him personally when he was on your show?)
