2. One month back Lata also developed hearing problem in both ears. She was unable to respond to her children's voices from the adjoining room at home. She missed registering a few words during routine conversation with others. She consulted an ENT surgeon for evaluation.
3. ENT exam confirmed the worst- she had high-frequency hearing loss. However, local examination of ears was normal.
Lata was too young to develop age-related hearing loss, as it usually affects people aged 65 and above. ENT doctor wanted neurological cause to be excluded.

Once amyloid starts to affect brain cells, it is thought to trigger a cascade of events, much like starting a row of falling dominoes. The brain’s immune cells become overactive and start to cause more harm than good. Blood flow can also be affected.

1. Hearing loss friends (and everyone else) I think we had a breakthrough yesterday evening at my sister’s party. I’m always banjaxed at any gathering and can’t communicate optimally. Millions can’t. #hearingloss #hearinglosshour @HearingLosshour @ActionDeafness @RNID

Hello! I've been doing a bit of British Sign Language #BSL / Sign Supported English #SSE tutoring. I've been doing one to ones but would anyone be interested in a fun small group, total beginners zoom class? I am #hardofhearing and use SSE alongside my hearing aids🦻🏼
(2/3) 🦻🏼
I am not fluent in #britishsignlanguage but I took my first (level 1) exam as a teen in 2002 when I began to first experience hearing loss, did more in 2006, then 2016, & most recently this lockdown. So have been steadily building my use of #bsl most of my adult life!
(3/3) 🦻🏼
There are lots of reasons to learn #signlanguage even if you don't know anyone with #hearingloss. Sign with babies, with SEN folk, for your CV, to make your business more accessible & because it is genuinely fun! If you might be interested @ me and RTs are appreciated ❤️
