All BC #workers have the right to
1. know what hazards exist in the workplace.
2. report injury or illness from hazards
3. refuse unsafe work
4. be free from reprisal for refusing unsafe work

#SARSCoV2 is a BSL3 pathogen & we have a right to know if it is in the air
...Govts are trying to spread a hazard so widely that workers cannot say that there is more hazard at work than elsewhere.

But if you slipped & fell at work, your slipping at the ice rink does not remove your employer's responsibility to remove a work hazard #SARSCoV2
...and if it is so easy for them to trample on a worker's right to *know* that a hazard is present, then watch out! They will make other looming hazards *endemic* too:

#wildfire smoke? You inhaled that at the gym!!
#heatstroke? Why it is hot everywhere!

One year ago today, my mother died a painful death caused by Care Home negligence. Betty didn’t know Twitter but hopefully Twitter will come to know her. #JusticeForBetty
Here is her story; please share it so others won’t suffer as Betty did. Image
On July 10, 2021, Betty died of complications arising from #rhabdomyolysis and #heatstroke. Both instances of negligence happened in the @Fraserhealth #DrAlHoggPavilion in #WhiteRockBC. About a month before her death, Betty’s leg was severely injured, yet…
her caregivers knew nothing about any incident. In hospital, 2 weeks later, it was diagnosed that mom had been laying on the hard floor for hours, enough to cause her muscles to begin wasting, releasing a toxin that would eventually attack her kidneys.

Record #heat. Tough weekend in the #PNW. Seattle=City with #1 lowest AC. For sure - heat-related illness and deaths to happen. what to do? I share a #tweetorial about lessons learned from @FortBenning -when I was CMO of the hospital there.

Please retweet if useful. #medtwitter
In Georgia, our medical team had to tackle issues of heat illnesses - from heat exhaustion, heat strokes and exercise associated hyponatremia (#EAH) - and tragically the deaths too. We re-learned lessons lost from the past and learned new ones.
Lesson 1: Young, healthy, and fit people die in the heat.

There's no age discriminator for heat stroke. Heat that cannot be dissipated will kill anyone eventually. Heat comes from mainly two sources - the environment and the person; especially if exerting oneself.

Hey @wregional! How are you today?
I’m at #HarrisonAR, checked in with #solv app instant waiting list to get tested for #coronavirus, trying to stay positive. C, pictured, yelled at me to roll my window down when asked what #number I am in line, after previously yelling at me.
No rush, I know everyone is busy. I’ll be here when my windows up to keep y’all safe cos my coworker tested positive for #coronavirus Friday, and I was last in contact Wednesday.

Side note: my #airconditioner is out. I am worried about being in a #hotcar and getting #heatstroke.
Should I be worried? I have #coronavirus symptoms but I’m pretty hot under the collar in more ways than one.
