Good News: The Young Mom is safe and sound.

Even Better News: The powered wheelchair is being delivered NEXT WEEK to the young woman who is a double amputee and has been waiting for a chair from the @YourAlberta & @RajanJSaw office... for an extremely long time.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who have made all this happen. To the @HarvestHillsYYC team of volunteers, @GrannyGTArp and @EveryAlbertan and also @paul_yyc as well! Without all these awesome people...doing what they do...all of this may not have happened! 😊 So thank you!
On another note, I don’t like begging 🥺 but in this case I am. If you can help...please do as all the team @HarvestHillsYYC is looking for is $475.00.

This is for two medium families. If you can donate I am sure ANY AMOUNT is and would be welcome.

If there is someone who can assist a family in immediate need please DM @HarvestHillsYYC ASAP for more information. I would post the info here but it’s a tad bit sensitive.
All I can say is that:

Family 1: Single mom of 4 in need of assistance $1287.00 (needed)

Family 2: Single dad of 2 in need of partial damage deposit $650.00

Family 3: Senior in need of help with utilities due to province clawing back partial CERB/disability benefits $740.00
Family 4: Family of 8 in need of food assistance from HHCC $575.00

All these amounts are to either help take care of the bills in their entirety or to provide families and individuals and or seniors with a complete months worth of food assistance.

Today I literally sat down and cried. I literally bawled my eyes out and cried until there were no more tears left to cry.

1/?
You see, I had just spent the entire morning and most of the afternoon helping Harvest Hills Cares Calgary talk to individuals and families who have been dealt the most terrible of blows. 2/?
The families and individuals that I talked to were begging and pleading for help. Begging and Pleading for help because they had no where else to turn and they were asking @HarvestHillsYYC to put them in touch with @Hell_Berta so they could ask @Hell_Berta for help.

I have an idea:

If everyone dislikes/hates/does not approve of @jkenney and the UCP donors....why not regular everyday people like us donate to a grassroots organization or group that is struggling under the @Alberta_UCP government?
I’ve donated $100.00 to @HarvestHillsYYC and I challenge others to donate as well. Let’s show the @Alberta_UCP and @jkenney that we Albertans take care of our own since our own government doesn’t, can’t or won’t!

We only have $500.00 left to raise to have Harvest Hills Cares Calgary pay the rent for this woman and her family.

If we can raise $500.00, we have a private donor that is willing to match our donations to make the final amount: $2000.00
Let’s help this woman & her family out. If you know of anyone that can help please tell them they can contact Harvest Hills Cares Calgary on Facebook or send an etransfer to:

From an AISH client:

“Hellberta, I’d like to ask you for help if you could ever be so kind. I’m a 45 year old woman with medical problems that landed me on AISH. Simply put I almost died due to at first being misdiagnosed but that is beside the point.”
“Before Covid19 hit Calgary my husband was working and I was on AISH. We had no problems or issues with anything. We paid our bills on time and we could afford groceries and our monthly date night out (we usually go to a local park and have a picnic and then go to a movie)”
“Then my husband lost his job and got laid off with no return date. My AISH worker told him to apply for CERB...so he did. My worker said that nothing would affect us that only a little bit would be taken off of my cheque.”

***Important Information***

There are a few groups we have been following since the Covid19 virus went global. These groups have jumped into action and have selflessly helped others simply because they see others in need of help.
On Facebook there’s a group of pages that are working together to help all of Calgary. The pages are: The Country Hills Cares, Coventry Hills Cares, and The Harvest Hills Cares. They are based in NE/NW Calgary but will assist any Calgarian in need during these difficult times.
They are in desperate need of donations because they most recently helped 11 families from the local Cargill Meat Plant as well as 17 other families from local businesses that had to shut down and temporarily close due to a positive result of Covid19
