A while back, two or three summers ago. At an event called AfroFest. I recognized two guys wearing supremacists t-shirts thanks to a Facebook group that showcases the racism or bigotry in our city. I was SHOCKED!
Many of the people in the festivals, predominantly black had no idea they were scoping, taking pictures or videos. I felt helpless and didn't know what to do at that time. And it made me think. A lot of us don't know their banners or symbols.
Sometimes you see unrecognizable logos, or stickers on people's mug, shirt, flyers, the back of vehicles and you have NO IDEA of their meaning or who these groups are. It's all about being covert in their hate and racism.
