With nowhere else to go and a baby to feed, Sindhutai started begging in trains and on the streets in order to survive. Fearing for her safety and that of her daughter, she spent her nights in cemeteries and cowsheds.
It was during these difficult times that Sindhutai began spending time with orphaned children & realized how difficult life was for them.
She adopted around a dozen orphans & took on the responsibility of keeping them clothed & fed,even if it meant begging for longer hours.

Neehaari Mandali from Hyderabad is a burn survivor who offers free plastic surgeries to burn victims across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana through the Burn Survivor Mission Saviour Trust.
"Post-burn surgeries are expensive and not very prevalent. So, focuses on helping people with burn injuries who do not have financial stability or are unaware of such treatments altogether."

"When we requested a school in the area, the National Green Tribunal rejected it as the place is flood-prone. No electricity can be provided, too, as the settlements are temporary. That is how the bamboo school idea came up."
The school, Sharda Yamuna Khadar Pathshala, is funded by the Ekta Foundation. It had less than five students in the beginning but now has over 250 of them.
