Iâve followed Hillsborough closely since 2008 when Anne Williams first collared me at an event and told me her story. Iâd assumed that the disaster was finished with. After all, it had happened in 1989. It was past history wasnât it? I couldnât have been more wrong.
Anne made it sound as though the news was fresh. She also assumed that I was up to speed on the nuances of coronial law, and jumped straight in at the deep end, details-wise.

Tonight we started the #Hillsborough regular town board meeting with one of my favorite events of the year - presentations of the Innovation, Customer Service, and Endurance Awards to @HillsboroughGov employees. Iâve been fortunate to serve on this committee for 4 years.
A few highlights: utilities staff working 11 mos w/o a director or asst director while rising above/beyond, learning new skills, and working together to âmake it workâ; TWO diff. lives saved by police officers; Straw for Dogs distributing 100 bales to keep pups warm. A few pics:
