Spent several months last year working on this @Refinery29 doc about how the homelessness and housing crisis is affecting women — not just on Skid Row, but all over Los Angeles.
We talked to residents in Venice, consulted experts including at @uscsocialwork, interviewed @MayorOfLA, hung out with an activist motorcycle gang downtown, and spent a lot of time speaking with the women for whom housing would mean the most.
When the #homelesscount is released this morning, I'll be thinking of Arien, who is my age and sleeps down the street from my apartment in Hollywood. She ended up on the streets while fleeing a bad housing situation and now says she's a "walking target."
