An hour past the “deadline”. This looks to be the final stand—entrance to #PolyU. Intermittent chants by remaining protestors & heckling@police. No idea what’s going on inside campus. But there are ppl who wanna leave but are trapped & afraid to try. #HongKongProtests #HongKong
Water cannon, TG deployed 5-10mins ago, and more TG now as protestors start hurling petrol bombs towards the Chatham Rd intersection. Protestor line holding. #HongKong #HongKongProtesters
Protestor being treated and helped into campus. The frontline has grown 200-300, w/ppl ferrying supplies in and out of campus. Another line guarding Science Museum Rd. #HongKong #PolyU #HongKongProtesters

#NOW #PolyUniversity - @hkpoliceforce urges protesters to surrender or they will arrest them by force including LETHAL FORCE. Police warns protesters "Time is running out" as they have been tolerated by the society for long. #HongKongProstests #HongKong #HongKongPolice
Meanwhile on telegram channel, #PolyU protesters vow to defend the campus until the very end - probably the last university stronghold - because they think it'll be almost impossible to reenter the campus if they retreat, which makes it harder to block cross harbour tunnel again.
#BREAKING #PolyU: @hkpoliceforce's armored trucks approached protesters and burning objects. One of them was then set ablaze by Molotov cocktails thrown by protesters. Literally frightening though it shall be put off very soon after it retreated. #HongKongProtests #HongKong

You HAVE TO WATCH THIS!

SOOO many questions answered!

Who really owns the NBA?

Why does Nike hate Trump? And America?

Is Kaepernick just a dumb pawn?

Jason Whitlock continues

"The #NBA exists to sell shoes!"

The #NBAChina is beholden to Nike!

Nike's hatred of @POTUS is all about #TPP & Trump's cancellation of it.

Remember when #Obama
went to NIKE HEADQUARTERS to talk TPP?

How weird is that?

(Obama loves him some NBA basketball 😉 - maybe even more than America)

.@Apple removed an app that provides real-time updates about #HongKongPolice and #HongKongProtesters movements from its App Store on Oct. 10, the latest international brand that has caved following pressure from the #Chinese regime 👎 theepochtimes.com/apple-pulls-ho…
The dynamic, crowd-sourced app HKmap.live has become popular for helping people to navigate through the tear gas-filled streets in Hong Kong, a former British colony where pro-democracy protests have erupted since June against Beijing’s creeping interference.
The emojis and spontaneous updates proved handy for users to track conditions such as train closures and potential clashes. Apple said in a statement that the app has posed “serious harm” to law enforcement and local residents.

This person is called Chung Ng Wai, as an e-sports competitor he also goes by @blitzchungHS.

You probably don't know who he is.

But you should listen how his experience highlights the result of states using culture & sports for coercive soft power (THREAD) 👇#Blizzardboycott
Chung is from Hong Kong and plays a video game called Hearthstone competitively.

These Hearthstone tournaments can involve some serious money, and for many, is their livelihood.
As someone from Hong Kong, you'd expect he'd have an opinion on some of the #HongKongProtests. Which he expressed during a post-match interview on the official Taiwanese Hearthstone stream.

He said [translated]: "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our age!" A protest slogan.

My @ASPI_ICPC colleagues @tomatospy @JakeWallis_ASPI and I have spent the last week digging into the data released by Twitter in connection to a state-backed information operation targeting the Hong Kong protests. Here's what we found: THREAD
As initially suspected, the campaign targeting #HongKongProtesters appears to have been hastily assembled with a mix of a small number of purpose-made accounts and a much larger network of repurposed marketing and spam accounts.
In this account, for example, we can clearly see a change of behaviour from 2018 its initial purpose, which seems to have been mostly spamming in English, to a much lower volume of tweets directed at the #HKprotests in 2019.
